Puppy Dandruff

Postby roxy » Tue Aug 04, 2009 5:24 am

Have you ever notice that your puppy has little white flakes all over their head? We did after we washed our 10 week old pup. Many dogs don't need to be bathed that often due to the fact that their skin can dry out very easy . At the most wash your dog no more than once a month ( more often only if they are very dirty). Many people wash their dog even less, and only wipe them down with a damp cloth. It saves their skin from drying out and keeps their coat shiny if you do not over bathe them. As far as those little white flakes....i gave my pup a few really good brushings for a couple of days and then she was fine.

We usually bathe Lexi once or twice a month, depending on how much mud she get into!
We tend to brush her out every day, though.
