Questions to ask a breeder

Postby popadom » Tue Jul 07, 2009 7:30 am

Picking a new dog, especaially a puppy can be hard. So these are a few questions ive used when talking to a breeder. Remember, if the breeder seems odd or not what you expect... dont buy!

*Can you see the parents
*when were the last dogs jabs
*what are their personalitys
*do they get on with children/other dogs/animals
*do they have any fears such as men/children/dogs
*are they toilet trained/or any training.
*what are the advantages of this breed ?
*what are the disadvantages.

When you are picking a puppy-ask yourself:
*dose it look healthy
*is there any runny eyes/ears/nose-this is bad(no, dont feel tempted to pick the puppy like this, it may cost you lots in the end)
*Is the puppy intrested in you or shy
*dose the breeder anwser your questions well- or are they dismssive. The breeder should know about the health issues of the breed and personalitlies
